Beginning a New File


Step 1: Access the File Menu

Click File on the Publisher menu. File menu: Thumbnail

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2: Access New Choices

Click New on the file submenu. This will open the Publisher "catalog" - this lists choices for creating a new file. New choices: Thumbnail

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3: Wizard Options

If you would like to create a new document through the use of a Publisher Wizard (a "wizard" walks you through how to create a document - step by step; for example, there is a wizard for creating an announcement flyer or a letterhead for a business), you would simply click on the "Publications by Wizard" tab and click your choice. Step 4: Design Options

If you are sticking with a theme for everything you create (such as the "Arcs" theme for business cards, calendars, envelopes, etc.), you want to click the "Publications by Design" tab and then click your choice. Step 5: Blank Publications

If you know what it is that you want to do, you may not find a wizard or a design that suits you. Click the "Blank Publications" tab that appears on the Catalog window. Notice that you can create various types of publications from scratch, including full-page designs and web page designs. Click Full Page in the Blank Publications window. Click Full Page in the window on the right side of the screen. Click Create and your document will appear. Leave the file open on your screen for now. Blank publication: Thumbnail
